In this hands-on activity, the student must create a ramp and a surface to track a ball as it rolls. The handout and presentation informs the student of all necessary materials and how to construct a ramp with a ruler and protractor. After the teacher models the procedure using 5 different angles, the class will begin to run trials of their own using new angles. After running the trials and recording information, the student will create equations for each path the ball traveled. The equations will be written or formed using Desmos and the student will draw a conclusion about the horizontal displacement of the ball in relation to the angle of the ramp and will compare their conclusions with peers.
